Its interesting when you look at bartenders kml files how vodafone exists in one area as the dominant coverage supplier but telecom are dominant in others where vodafone doesnt go near.

One example of this is waikaremoana. Two vodafone cell sites but absolutley no telecom anywhere to be seen.

Also a new panel has appeared on the top of the skating rink Cnr Ti Rakau & Botany. I'm aware of an already existing Voda cell there so this is possibly 2degrees or Telecom. The panel is singular and facing up toward Botany Road. Any ideas?

Looking out my window right now and I see engineers working on the vodafone 2100 site outside my house, not sure what they are doing, upgrading/increasing capacity or adding additional equipment for HSPA+ perhaps??? Mmmm intriguing.

Update: it looks like they are installing another cabinet and opening up a box of equipment, maybe it is getting it ready for HSPA+... although it could be co-location with another provider, which the white coloured cabinet would make sense, to differentiate from the green cabinets already in place.

Got up this morning, and the Downers engineers are still hard at work on the site, saw the printing on the boxes which they took the equipment out of, its Nokia Siemens, so this rules out co-location, and looking more likely to be getting the site ready for HSPA+. Too bad my SGS is not capable of HSPA+:( Come on SGS 2, give us some HSPA+ flavour!!!

+1 will not be colocation

I saw the one you are talking about on top of the skating rink. There is another one which looks exactly the same but facing towards Flat Bush/East Tamaki, this is however mounted at Ti Rakau Drive side of the complex.

+1 for either 2Degrees or XT sites.
