Or maybe somebody implanted a monitoring device in my brain that connects to the XT network and creates interference!

OK just an update:

The problem appears resolved, Vodafone replaced my SIM card.
Can't figure out how that fixed it but the problem stopped the day the new SIM went in and has not recurred.

I had something similar happen on my landline, funny thing is it was while I was on the phone to Vodafone about my Broadband, he was talking and it just got scrambled, kinda like Skype on a dial up connection with to little bandwith, it was very wierd
