Shame you ahd to replace the 527 though it is a great box and the hassle you would have experienced with this issue,

Cisco hopefully have addressed the issue now they think they know what is is, the Guys at Cisco are pretty good blokes and they have have advised the issue looks to be related to the new dlsams requirement that the end CPE support Down Stream Power Backoff,

Until a GA build is avaible with the fix in place a firmware patch will need to be applied and we will do this on a case by case basis for our custys as the code is a patch and not fully test as a GA build.

Yes, it would have been nicer to only have one box rather than two, however time was of the essence due to an office relocation and just couldn't wait any longer for things to be resolved.

OK, that's good to know. We might be one of those cases. Telecom is supposed to be turning off interleaving on our line to see if that fixes the problem, but I'm not very optimistic that it will.

I've also tried a D-Link DSL-2730B modem router and that doesn't sync either. :(

Quick update to continue with my previous post. I got a response from Telecom NZ:

Your connection does not yet run through a cabinet.
This you can verify by visiting www.telecomwholesale.co.nz/maps and inputting your address there to see what services is available to you and any existing and proposed cabinets.

We have a very close working relationship with Alcatel who has built and maintains much of our network.
As such, it would be best if Cisco talk to Alcatel to get the best information.

Although we can only estimate the copper length to the property at this stage, it does not appear that your property is so close to the exchange that a special profile need to be applied to accommodate.

If you like, I can still have this 'close profile' applied to your line however, if you are further than 1km, this may result in a lower connect rate.

When I lost a sync on Cisco SRP527w I tested in my case the following modems :
Thomson TG585 V8 ADSL2+ Wireless
Thomson TG585 V7 ADSL2+ Wireless
D-Link G604T Genneration II ADSL2+ Wireless
D-Link G502T Genneration II ADSL2+
( all reset to factory settings , running preinstalled Telecom software)

I even connected old ADSL Netgear DG632 and all these modems worked without any problem.

Regarding Cisco SRP527w I tested on Firmaware Version 1.01.19 (004) DSL Modulation and only G.dmt and T1.413 (ADSL) would sync but not default multimode (ADSL2+)

I have been running new DSL Driver fix "SRP520_dsl_0.70.1_A2pB030u" (DSL Modulation: multimode ADSL2+) as mentioned in my previous post for several days and all is working good inc VOIP and Wireless.

Final update. We now have sync with both the SRP527 and the D-Link and no drop outs since. Evidently in this case turning off interleaving was the solution.

Oh thank Jeebus im not the only one having this issue.
I lost sync last week and after ringing xnet got the line tested at my house...all fine so it must be a faulty SPR527 (still under warranty,so all good) .
Just got the new modem..AAAHH same problem!! and yet my old linksys WAG200 still connects up just fine.

Try to be a bit high tech and have fancy flash modem and voip phones and it all goes bad :(
