Based on an 80GB monthly cap, dedicating 75% of it to backups, it'd take about 3 years to upload the 2TB of data. In that time i'd have created another 2TB of data.

Alternately, if I could get a faster upload than 2Mbps and do it all in a month, I think it'd cost approx $2950 for the 2TB of bandwidth. That's cheaper than I expected.

I'll have to give iTunes movies a go, that could be handy.

freitasm: You can backup locally for quick restore and remotely in case the local backup is stolen or burns in a house fire. You can speed it up and down to use a certain amount a month so you don't use the 2TB in a month.

And as for an Apple world, no we use Windows in our media centre. And you have other legal movie options in New Zealand, such as Zune marketplace.

It was just to show you can use a lot without being a hoarder pirate. I am sure those exist though.

60gb here 3 people very little "Illegal" mostly HD youtube and ondemand ect...
I would be happy with 25-50mbit even tho i agree with the earlier statement that 15mbit is decent enough unless you want quickly downloaded warez

Wouldn't mind 100mbit tho.. Wonder who i could nudge above me to convince them to give me a docsis3 modem :D

Hi Steve,

I've checked with our people and we're not offering any such trial in Glendowie.

Cheers, Gary
