2011tv: Their cdma network does not have to close though. It was their voluntary decision to close it. Why not keep it open and start selling the iPhone4 CDMA? Maybe they could do a survey on how many customers would switch from using an iPhone on vodafone's network to theirs.

Prob is with CDMA you are big time limited on where you can roam to, hence Telecom were selling dual GSM/CDMA phones (those samsung ones) to make it easy for people to roam overseas.

Plus Telecom needs the spectrum for XT (i.e to make it faster)

If I start mapping the places in the CBD where I do not get decent reception with Vodafone on google maps, it will be a lot of places filled up quickly. I find data on my mobile is near to useless if I'm inside a building with Vodafone.

With a million customers still on CDMA thats 1million customers that need to change networks in the next year....
OK so XT will get most but for the other players its a customer base worth chasing.

But like many I suspect the actual number of customers needing to change is far fewer.

Have you actually done anything about your issue? Sending johnr a PM would be a start - or is your goal to just come here and troll?

Plus telling JohnR what your handset type is.  Since 3G on a 2100Mhz is well known to not work well inside buildings.  But I agree with sbiddle here, contacting Vodafone is best rather than trolling.

I suggest you go back and read your post again, You did not say anything about poor reception.

Low coverage is low coverage,

I can take you places where carriers have no coverage in Auckland, I am not interested in places with low / poor coverage every carrier has these all over the world,

I suggest you try and build a mobile network with no black spots. Good luck to you
