Got a reply from XNet stating
"We can assure you that in both cases neither will have any effect upon data billing as firstly local data is not chargeable, and secondly the total amount of standard data is still correct despite the delay in its recording."

For us we normally sit around 10Gb "billable" / mth ... and this month we are are 26Gb with 10Gb of local!!!

At the moment our line is throttled, with Billable data at 26Gb .... and our limited adjusted to 30Gb ... so stuffed if I know what is going on.

Going to be slacked if I get billed for this ... as with 3 years of historical usage data ... have never got anywher near this ... except when we did 20Gb one month when I was downloading all my MS Action Pack software.

Xnet seem to be holding the line that Standard Traffic is accurate and will be billed ... but local traffic is incorrect and is being worked on. For me, that doesnt line up.

Standard traffic is certainly not accurate. Usually in a month my household uses about 10GB on peak data. So far it's up to 25GB.
Earlier in the month it was counting off peak as on peak, and for the past 10 or so days it seems to be counting twice as much for everything.

Just got another Email from their Service Desk :

"The standard traffic we are having record issues with as far as date but is still accurate in total. The local traffic is not accurate in amount at all. "

WxC have informed me they have a call logged with their vendor...

A new billing period on Thurs [1st Sept] - the pressure is on WxC or all hell will break loose !

I have to agree things look fishy my last months bill was showing I had 83000mg in billable traffic I can't see that as being overly accurate I always do my best to dload everything during off peak times. Reading this makes me wonder if i'm a victim to as looking at my past stats they are normally about 50000mg less per month.

Cameron if your reading this can you look into mine as well. "sillybillyy2k" is my user name. I'm also going to be honest if that trend of overly high on peak traffic continues and claimed as accurate then im off elsewhere so there's no offpeak / on peak times at all and I can manage to keep things more balanced as to how they used to be.

I would disagree with this. I'm about to start some more accurate testing, but anecdotally we are seeing much higher standard (billable) data usage than in previous months. Hit the data cap near the end of last week which is also out of the ordinary.

I'd have to disagree also. It may have been catching up previous days, however in my case these days had already been counted and by my estimation were correct

Just relax a little bit people there is no battle, we have advised that were aware of the issue due to a new accounting system that is now in place, we are not saying there isn't a issue but that we are working to get it correct, there is now ay we want you to be billed incorrectly.

It may not look like it at present but this system will be far more accurate (when the bugs get worked out, yes we know it should have been but live traffic shows up the problems where testing didn't), the previous system used actually let a lot of "free" data through so some users will be now be seeing some billable traffic they they were not charged for previously.

Cameron and his team are logging the issues and we are fully aware of it, please keeping passing your concerns and example through to the support teams, Bottom line is the vendors are on it .. albeit slowly

Thanks for the reply Maverick. Does Xnet have any intention of looking in past months? Now that I'm aware of the incorrect billing I think my last two months are also very off. Wrote them off intitailly as being an abnormality and made a mental note to track traffic much closer this month.

I don't think the new billing system has been in place that long, and the previous one did not bill everything it should have so perhaps you do not want Xnet to look too far back...

My usage is about 50% higher than what it's been for years, but I trust XNet to fix any errors.

Just a quick update - cause of the issue has been found, working with the vendor to resolve the problem.

Will update this thread once I've confirmed the issue has been fully resolved & data corrected.

Hey guys, I think I'm in the same boat..
my Pc somehow managed to download 14 gigs last night while it was off and capped me out, I'm not on wireless and this is the only pc on this network.
Any Ideas what causes that?

Trouble with data usage monitoring is causing that, please don't hesitate to remove your cap - we hope to correct the data usage problem shortly.

Usage is still incorrect. Billing cycle resets at midnight. Not going to be amused if they try charge for this.
