djrm: Typical last as usual for the Waitakeres. So when does "Final RBI coverage" mean in timescale? and what about poor old KeriKeri and Bethells beach???

Some place has to be last and again please refer to the link for the other questions,

To be fair, the only page with dates is this one and there is only "Year 1" through "Year 6" with nothing else in terms of dates...

And the link to the MED website from Vodafone is dead, going to 404.

The Map has a guide of current RBI coverage / RBI coverage within next 12 months /

It would be very difficult to give a date beyond 12 months planning

So you are telling me that the largest telecommunications company in the world can't plan beyond one year? You must have a rough time scale for the public. Particularly now that you have recieved public money for this project.

Technology changes so much in a year these days, which can affect timelines etc for any company, not just telcos.

If you honestly have an issue with the information that has been supplied, then I suggest you contact Vodafone directly.

I did contact Vodafone but I had no reply as of yet.

It would just be nice so that we out West can plan for what to do for Broadband in the next year or so. When you have limited options....

Chorus manage to plan very well indeed and have open documents on the site with pretty accurate timescales for the next few years. With Vodafone its like a state secret but shouldn't be now as they have our money!

I can tell you now they will only point you to the RBI Rollout this is a contract between the NZ government and Vodafone NZ including time frame for deployment!

Planning beyond 12 months! Clearly you have never run a business before and done budgets and appied for resource consents. It's not the matter of Vodafone putting up a cell where it likes!

You need to sort out land to put in a cell! Landowner needs to agree and a contract signed
You need to request power to be put in, A cell is not much use with no power
You need to sort out transmission to the cell, Fairy dust does not work

Some new coverage will get built earlier depending on many factors beyond Vodafone NZ control

Johnr - I'm out the back end of Kumeu, off Waitakere road on the Kumeu/Taupaki border. I haven't noticed any improvement whatsover, my signal strength is still as dire as ever.

To be fair, though, I'm pretty sure the tower that feeds us is the one located a bit further towards Westgate on SH16.

It's in the CBD of Kumeu on the tall tower behind the Shell / Z gas station it's not built to cover Taupaki
