SNR Margin Down/UP is 8.7dB, Telecom normally operate 12dB to stop callouts for disconnections relating to disconnections. Voda and Orcon on the LLU products use 9dB, this gives higher sync rates for the line length/attenuation but higher chance of disconnections.

In that case I really have to wonder what the latest Chorus tech Did/requested done as I was told I had been moved onto a "More Stable Line Profile" and noticed the drop in speeds to match.

Also It does not appear I am able to get DMT tools working with my MT882, I may just be doing something wrong however it seems to reject the modem as unrecognized.

Without being able to use DMT tools I am pretty much unable to do anything when it comes to Noise Margins but I will give Vodafone a call and see what they can do, I should note however that although I have no idea what the most recent Chorus tech has done, (Damn line monkeys some with less communication skills than an actual monkey) Vodafone have previously changed my line profile on multiple occasions and the problem has still occurred.

Another line profile change, Another drop in Sync speed, Any more line profile changes and the fix may be worse than the damn problem.

Only time will tell if it is fixed I suppose...

And to think, It was syncing at just under 20Mbps before this all started.

One or Two noticeable disconnections today, Although I am currently Capped.

Does being capped in any way contribute to disconnections? I don't see how it could but I have been wrong before...

Looks like my area gets Fibre in September (GLF/FFP32 Cabinet in Glenfield), Looking forward to that, Makes my Copper line issues rather irrelevant too.

Noticed disconnections as well as drop in speeds on reconnect yesterday.

Pulled the plugs out for a little fiddling and noticed moisture that appeared to have seeped through the cinder block wall behind the jackpoint.

It appears the process of someone drilling through the wall to install the jackpoint originally created a gap for water to seep through.

Replaced the very short cable through the wall with something a little longer and moved the jackpoint upwards and screwed it into the window frame (Far enough away to not cause a structural problem)

Seems to have cleared up the problems I was having yesterday however only time will tell if its fixed.
