In the year or so I have been living in this house I have been noticing a large quantity of ADSL Disconnections on my line, Ranging from a single disconnection to on occasion hours where the line just disconnects then reconnects.
In this time I have made a number of calls to the help desk and have had visits from multiple Tech's, Some which have confirmed the problem others which deny it exists.
I have tried alternative equipment of everything on my end (Modem, Cables, Filters as well as full isolation tests), Everything from the Demarc in has been replaced during tech visits as well as being shortened and extremely simplified when I originally moved in (Cable in->Cable through concrete wall->Jackpoint with no other wiring or jackpoints connected).
My Primary modem is a Linksys WAG120N but I also have a Huawei MT882 I purchased to try due to assumed better compatibility with Vodafone's Red Network Equipment however the problem still occurs in an identical manner.
The latest tech appears to have put me on a "More Stable" line profile which has given me a drop in line speeds, This has made the original disconnection problem occur less however I have since been noticing connection instability which I can only imagine occurs at the times where on the previous line profile the connection would have dropped.
Due to my close proximity to the Glenfield exchange I am on the Red network and I believe I am on a non-cabinetised line.
Due to the way the line runs into my house it would be rather difficult to install a master filter however I have cherry-picked line filters over the past year and most potential internal line issues should not be a factor due to the setup (There is also very little noticeable difference in line speed during isolation tests without a filter connected at all)
I generally connect on Annex M where possible however I have noticed the same issues across all Modulation Types, Annex M appears to be fairly stable in comparison to the others and provides a small but welcome increase in upload compared to the alternatives although not the 3.5Mbps it theoretically could provide.
I am about to call the Vodafone call center once again and although they do seem to provide great and very competent service I am not all that hopeful my problem will be resolved as everything seems to fall apart once Chorus get involved.
Line stats will follow once I dig up older screenshots and switch over to the Single Port Huawei Modem which gives much more detailed connection information.
My question is what can I do?
