From what i understand at the moment, cancelling the plan will mean you will brick the phone. As per my previous post, I'm sure there will be hack out by that time which will allow you put a prepay sim in the phone.

as per many posts so far:
amanzi: There is no prepay. Vodafone confirmed that weeks ago.

There will be ETCs if you leave and cancel.

Well they had a cunning plan with the 1st generation iphone to lock it but that only lasted a matter of weeks before someone hacked it. I think there will definately be cancellation fee's.

I plan on some YouTubing, and an hour of web-browsing every day...

I use a vodem as my only internet source, so know pretty much what I'm going to use.

After all what better to do during those 50 minute long English lessons, now that I have my 12 Uni credits (Don't you love NCEA!)

EDIT:-  What about itunes TV programmes?

Your a poor student too! Just get unit standard credits!

An hour of browsing on a phone a day?

I'd say a youtube video, a gps find and 50 emails a day max.

Yes, there are ETCs.  No - they're not insignificant.

Pardon my ignorance what are ETC? Exit conditions? Are they insignificant in relation to the unsubsided price of the phone?

ETC = Early termination charges, the price you pay to break a term contract early

I think this should be rephrased as "you think a crack could still unlock it?"

A bit different, seeing there isn't a crack for this handset yet, so "a" and "could" instead of "the" and "can"...

Meh, if it was anything but English... It's a shame I needed to take it. I plan on doing a bachelor of Physics or Computer science.

Besides... I do actually try in all my other subjects, and do, do quite well in every one of them except Bio.

EDIT:- I just realised how off topic that was. Sorry.
