Only to one other mobile... because people can only have one friend... The deal is great Vodafone but really, it would be better and you would make more $$$ if you made it for more than 1 person..

I believe multiple BestMates will be available as a You Choose addon when on account changes to the new billing system..But my lips are sealed. The BestMate feature will be applicable to both Prepay & on account.

Did I read their T&C correctly?

Quote: "Limit of one BestMate™ Add-On per customer at any one time."

You are only allowed to have ONE 'bestmate' at any one time?? Now in terms of revenue why would they not allow a customer to add more than one. I thought this would be great if say group of say 4 friends got together and nominated each other then potentially that could be $18 per month from each.

Maybe they should call it 'one mate'.

It seems to me that this is a loss leader aimed at getting more users onto their network. Allowing more than one BestMate Add-On could hurt their margins too much.

Just got the following email from Vodafone:

Hey Adam, with BestMate, on Supa Prepay great mates can be together wherever. You see, BestMate lets Supa Prepay customers talk, TXT and video call their Vodafone best mate. In NZ. All they like. 24/7. For only $6 a month. However, the good news for you is that BestMate is also coming for all our on-account customers in the new year. So, while you’re getting great value now, it’s about to get even better! You can be the very first to hear all about it.But in the meantime make sure you’re getting the most out of your current plan. Check out vodafone.co.nz/plans

I wonder if the recipient 'best mate' would have option to accept / decline the offer.

Just thinking about the stalker/looney's out there. "Lets nominate someone and annoy the hell out of them for a mere $6 per month."

Just wondering - if you're on TXT2000 and you decide you're going to skip a month because you know that you're not going to be able to txt and not top up, is there a penalty fee or something? i.e. pay $3 to skip a month.

bradstewart: And $20 min topup every 3months is a bit harsh. It was bad enough being forced to top up once a year.

Since when does $20 last for any decent amount of time at all?

You can't be serious in believing that this constitutes any restriction of the typical prepay user's rights...

You maybe correct that a typical user would not be concerned by this restriction but it would suck if it was you who lost $100 because you didnt put $20 in every 3 months. You might have gone overseas. Could be hospitalised. You could be extremely busy and simply forgot. You could have $100 (dont vodafone send selected customers promo's to double up) that you put on thinking that should see you through for 6 months.

Any more?

Just to clarify, from reading the Terms and conditions on Vodafone...

The 3mth limit just applies when you first transfer from another plan onto Supa Prepay.  It's still a 1yr credit expiry limit after your first top up....

$0.89 cents anytime sux though........  So I must make my poor fingers do all the texting to friends, and I can only talk with 1 bestmate????

Hmm....  As a user mentioned before...  Any "dual sim cards" out there?

Very very good Vodafone. It will be itneresting to see what Telecom do now.

If Vodafone don't compensate On Account custoemrs with something in the meantime, I will be very disapointed.
