humvee: As I mentioned earlier I have a wrtp54g and I am convinced the issue is at least partially heat in the router. because when ever I keep it sitting on a mesh in tray with air all around it is fine. but if someone moves it and site it on the carpet or a flat hard surface I start having problems. It would also appear that every time I have the problem both my line 1 VFX and line2 internetcalls.com suffer the same problem at the same time

I would actually tend to agree with this, I have seen issues with heat effecting devices before, so would be interested in more feedback on this

I had noticed a possible connection to doing some heavy downloading (bit torrents etc) overnight, then the problem occured that next morning. That was probably too why it was happening more over the holiday period as I was probably using the net more.

But I can't confirm nor deny this at this stage...

...I've not even had my router plugged in for the last few weeks as I'm without an internet connection...slowly battling against the bureaucracy or TelstraClear, Astute and now Orion to get cable in my new house!

Ahh... just seen this thread. Looks like I'm having the same problems as well.

But mine is solved by putting my SPA2102 in direct connection to the TC cable modem instead of behind my Actiontec router.

I've only ever had my Voip router connected directly to the TC cable modem and I've been having the problem.

Same as amigo I have also only ever had my router connected direct to the TC Modem

So, newbie question time. Now that I've got my SPA2102 connected directly to my TC cable modem .. how do I block someone from accessing the SPA configuration menus ?
