We do get a number of page timeouts and slow loading on Iphone and Ipad.
Not sure what the problem is yet.

I'm also and in Wgtn and have been offered this VFNZ deal

Can anyone advise whether the clne supplied the HG659 has a usb port that can be used for usb storage and or a printer ?

I now have to decide whether to go with SNAP who offer the same outcome with 100GB + free voicemail to email, IPV6 ready etc at $75 per month except with SNAP one has to buy their clne at $275/$325 unless one signs for 2 years...

the supplied unit supports DLNA/twonky and usb storage, i have not tested it but it is there, not sure about a printer though but it does have the option in its config so its quite possible (im going to say yes but i also havnt tested it either)
also supports a vodem as a backup connection on eh unit

my main reason for VF was the 2 months free as i dont know if ill be where i am for a full year, the break costs were not very high with VF (as compared to orcon!) and the $30 off i get because of my work phone made it cheaper than the dsl i had prior.. win win really...

I tried using a hard drive formatted for Mac, but it would not work.

That's not surprising. FAT32 or NTFS would be "standard".

Just out of interest  I am in central Palmerston North and getting the Vodafone UFB hooked up Tuesday.  Modem arrived by courier today and Chorus guy was out Friday for a look at the install.  had a couple of issues with Vodafone to start with as they did not have our address in their system as having fibre available but they seemed to be a bit overwhelmed the first week they offered their UFB plans. hopefully this will get better.  getting the 100/50 speed  so will be interesting to see what we actually get. currently get about 15Mb/sec on Adsl.

Not sure if this is the correct forum for this but I will keep going. :-)
Although the Install is scheduled for tomorrow, Some guys turned up today and ran a new conduit from Junction box on footpath to the house. Took them about 3 hours to dig under the lawn and bore under the driveway, run the pipe and fill it all in again. Nice tidy work. All set for the inside work tomorrow.
