TimA: Your speedtest is fine for a ADSL connection. That would indicate your connecting OK.
The plan change has absolutely nothing to do with your issue. I and countless other people are on the same plan with no issues. Have you contacted Apple and asked why it maybe running slow?
But really. You dont look like your wanting help. This is being used a soapbox thread. Multiple people and Vodafone staff have offered help or shown interest and turned down. You have contacted the TDR so i am assuming you have followed our Complaints process and had no luck?

as I've said before i have contacted vodafone about this multiple times have been told i will get a call back within 3 days that was back on the 5th May just read the vodafone Facebook page they can never chase up anything except when you haven't paid your bill

Im only stating the fact that customer service with vodafone is non existent when someone promises you call back regarding a issue it should be followed up even if it is just a courtesy call to let you know the issue is still being looked into.

This wasnt outlined in any of the posts here so no one thought that had been done. John will look into it and see what is going on.

Place your bets....
a) Wiring fault (Internal or external)
b) Router issue
c) Exchange/cabinet issue
d) ISP issue

My money is on.......   A with a smaller side bet on C.

This is why I offered to help you. John is not currently in the office from what I can see - and I am. Would you like to reconsider messaging your details to me?

he provided a speed test that showed an ADSL2+ speed. This wouldnt be congested so we can rule out A/C. The speedtest seemed OK so i wouldn't stab WiFi yet. I think its content delivery or layer 8.

Ok, folks. Three pages of banter. Here is the short:

OP, could you please confirm you are using an ethernet cable to test your Mac OS PC speeds?
Can you confirm there isn't any uploads going on while doing these test?
Bad things happen - your two year old wiring at home may have a problem. It's not something unheard of.

Demeter says JohnR is not in the office today, so please contact her.

Others: please hold the barrage of posts.

Responding here, so everybody else can see what's going and possibly help with suggestions on how to remedy this. Right, so the line itself looks good, stats are decent. In case of any weirdness, I have dumped the PPP session offline to re-establish and @Chrisbexsta has restarted his modem now. It would be good to know if this has helped at all. Answers to Mauricio's previous questions would be very useful and go a long way towards finding the problem here.

Speedtests where run over Ethernet direct to Vodafone modem no other apps open except safari when speedtest was done and also went through activity monitor to check all other devices that run wifi where fully turned off not on standby

Just humour us but can you tell us what DNS settings you have. I was having similar problem (YouTube/iTunes) because my Primary DNS server setting was wrong.

Whilst I also have my own reservations about aspects of the OP's various posts, some of his observations about VF's service levels/inability to honour promises to call back etc are well-known complaints (as evident from your company's Facebook page and the scores of complaints about not hearing back when people make contact and long wait times to speak with CSRs). These things also align with my own and others' experiences.

In any event, even if these things DIDN'T align with my own and others' experiences, AND in spite of aspects of the OP's behaviour being at times unhelpful, I consider that he is perfectly entitled to express his own disappointments and so forth. Given that you aren't a moderator of these forums and clearly identify yourself as a VF employee, you really might wish to reflect a bit on the inappropriateness and the lack of etiquette behind essentially telling the OP to shut up and go away. Merely adding the word "please" doesn't change the very obviously unprofessional and impolite tone of your reply.

Do unto others as you will others do unto you. And two wrongs don't make a right.
