compost: My first reaction was "who cares?" until sbiddle suggested they could offer a trans-Tasman non-roaming area. Woah, that's the ultimate in bundling differentiation! I wonder if Telecom are getting anything in return on the other side of the ditch?

Umm - Telecom use "Telstra" in Aussie anyway (i.e. the parent to TCL)! So I'm thinking - No!!
So as for something in return, there are a few options.

nzbnw: As for the return, Telstra may offer a change in schedule of CDMA shut down and perhaps an access agreement to AAPT to its Next G mobile network.
