* How come I am getting my best-ever speeds to LA and your speeds suck?

Maybe all the leechers are on the equipment me and Mike are on, while you've got reasonably free bandwidth on the equipment you're on.

It's like some of us are being limited for some non-existant reason.

Yes, but as Mike said, that doesn't explain why people are getting perfectly acceptable Local speeds in the order of 2 - 4Mbps and yet their International speeds are only in the order of 100 - 500kbps.

If it was leechers choking up the equipment that you and Mike are on, that would affect your speed to ALL destinations, not just International.

Something really doesn't add up here at all

It'd be to do with how international bandwidth is split between routers.

I hope this is not another false dawn but my night speeds have jumped (Sydney not good for some reason). I have been switched from dsl02 today so maybe this is the common factor for the people with slow speeds.

Passes the Youtube test with flying colours, too!

150kBps from the US.
Normal browsing (large images, flash, etc) won't go over 100kBps.

This is just ridiculous...
