Apsattv: Rokki what exactly were your wifi issues?

If in the same room as the HG659 Apple devices couldn't connect to it even though they could see it. Flaky connection if connected. Inconsistent speed.

Yay VoIP is now working on VDSL!
last time I tried on the previous firmware version VoIP worked on ADSL but not VDSL

SSH not so much....Booo!
I can access the router via SSH, get ATP prompt, but alas no shell "command failed"

Tried disabling TR069 and remote accesses but seems to have little effect on Vodafone's remote access

Modem reports "internet disconnected" in both home start wizard overview and in status information, when internet is connected and functioning fine. The previous firmware used to report the internet was connected.
Some extra connections have appeared in internet connections onnet_vdsl, onnet_ethernet (ppoe)

Called to Vodafone to report SSH no access to shell  and the "internet disconnected" message with the new firmware
While very helpful I could not get any answers to what happened to SSH and the "internet disconnected" error message
other than the disappointing usual reply it's working and Vodafone don't support access to advanced features.

What's your VOIP setup? I'm interested that it's now working. Still broken on Spark firmware but I'm not keen to flash VF firmware as it seems flaky in other areas.

internet settings
VDSL voice enabled

Telephony

VoIP providers:
added italk (vodafone pre existing)

Provider name: iTalk
Primary registrar: alk.italk.co.nz
Primary proxy:alk.italk.co.nz
SIP domain: alk.italk.co.nz
ports all on default

VoIP Numbers
add italk ph number and password
sip number: italk ph number 64xxxxxx
username: italk ph number 64xxxxxx
password: italk sip password
enable: tick

Telephone
Didn't change anything in here, the new number is automagically assigned to both telephone 1 and 2

Didn't change anything either in dial plan or advanced

Check system logs, you should see "Registering with VoIP number 64XXXXXX to Register server akl.italk.co.nz successfully"
if not try disabling voice in internet connections and enabling.
system logs will also show if you've got the sip password wrong

From what I understand VF firmware has a fair bit missing when compared to Spark
Home, Internet,Home network, Sharing, Telephony, Maintain that's it
New firmware also adds guest wifi which was absent

I can't actually see the firmware option under my settings? Or the restore settings under maintain. Do you have to be plugged in via LAN?

Firmware update is accessible on both wired and wireless connection

If you can't see the firmware update option, you're probably not logged in on the admin account
From Admin login:
Maintain, Device management, Firmware upgrade

Hmm, strange. As far as I'm aware there's no other admin login for the router.

Is this vodafone router? Have you tried that vodafone admin login?

I think you might be logged in as "vodafone" as that's showing in the top right next to your Log Out button. Please log out, then log in as "admin" and password "VF-NZhg659". If you're already logged in as admin, please try another browser.

Is anyone able to get shell access and or execute any commands when Connected via SSH to the HG659 running the new firmware.

I can get the ATP prompt but can't get to shell.

Confirmed.  No shell access after update. But you can see line auttenuation in the dsl information now. Upstream line attenuation (dB): 7.2 Downstream line attenuation (dB): 4.7

Thanks, at least I know I'm not alone
Pity there was useful info to be had via ssh/shell that's not available from the web interface
