This is very sad news, but understandable. JohnR did an amazing job running interference here for Vodafone. He personally helped me out (on more than one occasion). I was ever grateful to John for that.

I hope we see a new account here before too long, for a Private-Citizen-Formerly-Known-As-JohnR because, although he was here and helping in his Vodafone capacity, JohnR was (is, I hope) a Geekzoner and is going to be missed.

Happy trails JohnR and thank you.

I wouldn't want to front Vodafone either

RIP JohnR

Sad to see him go. Very helpful, and didn't suffer fools (I like that).

Thanks JohnR

This is likely to happen soon. Just don't expect "Vodafone John".

Boo. I find it upsetting that things can escalate to that point on here :/

JohnR was a great resource for those needing help, and despite some bluntness seemed a great guy too. I hope we see him back in a non-Vodafone form soon.

His and Dylan's disappearance from here will realistically cost Vodafone customers.

Their tireless efforts to help us GZ over the years have been appreciated as shown by the posts.

Now without the alternative support avenue, frustrated customers will quit and those who are contemplating a Vodafone account will only see VF complaints but will notice alternative ISP have a helping presence here ie spark, big pipe, 2 degrees, Orcon , my republic etc.

With the poor attitude and manner of some of those asking for help, expect to see more people from all sorts of companies who provide help here, depart.

People can't simply expect to behave badly towards others.

Quite sad to news to hear, John was a great asset to vodafones online presence here.

I will certainly miss his unique character, Cant say im surprised though. wearing the brunt of Vodafones complaints and faults certainly would be draining.

I hope you return to geekzone, purely as a personal presence once again john! Thank you for all you have done for the community.

Oh what a shame, thank you JohnR. He could be a bit blunt sometimes, but he definitely got the job down, and helped me solve an issue or 2. He'll be sorely missed, particularly by Vodafone customers here.

Sorry to see JohnR go. His posts were informative and helpful, even if aimed at others. I think he helped lots of people and it is a shame that some took out their frustrations with Vodafone on him. He certainly didn't deserve that. I hope to see him back here in another guise.

IF I was still a Vodafone customer I would shed a tear or two for that. As it is, I just hope John will be around for other discussions, because would hate to loose him completely on Geekzone.

Thanks JohnR for all your input.  I enjoyed meeting you over some phantom CUG's laughing and hope like others that you come back to GZ as yourself.

Shame. I learned more from him about cell systems than from anywhere else. I'll miss him.

Looks like I'm moving our business to Spark when the contact's up...
