freitasm: Received a reply to my query to Vodafone:

@freitasm as vodafone have since redacted that it is not available to most customers (see the Vodafone Community thread) might be worth correcting that statement from Vodafone.

to my understanding the setup is DHCP so IP (not dhcp6 over PPPoE) but no vodafone staff have confirmed this yet.

Yeah I left it on connection type IP for a while just to give it a chance before also trying PPP. I get an IPv4 connection immediately in both cases, but IPv6 just won't come up (regardless of choosing SLAAC or DHCP for IPv6 addressing - tried both addressing options with both connection types.)

in my case sadly on IP i cant get an public IPv4 at all, getting that through to csrs is like pushing sh!t up hill.

i too have tried multiple paths of getting a v6 session up, i have a few dummy interfaces testing for it currently...

Although i never actually got a clear answer on why DHCP over VLAN 10 suddenly stopped working correctly (Port authenticaiton seemed to not be turned on), It seems that has now been fixed.

As vodafone staff have pointed out, atleast in my area their v6 allocation is not enabled, and due to the issues they have uncovered with it they are not planning on expanding the rollout until that is resolved.

On the upside, i can return to DHCP instead of PPPoE over my poor little adsl link!

Does anyone have any info on how the rollout is being progressed?  Still no IPv6 on my VDSL line in North Canterbury.

Vodafone rep posted they were starting up more roleouts to Auckland nodes this week.

Expect they are doing it chunk by chunk as it took a bit to hit mine

For me it's random: one day http://ipv6-test.com/ shows all green, the other day (including now) - it's not. So I had to disable it, since otherwise dns resolves are slow.

It is configured by default: if your client supports ipv6 you would get it as soon as vf enables it for you on the other side.

Considering they use pppoa for most adsl. Wont work afaik.

I run dchp vlan 10 on adsl, i understand pppoe vlan 10 should do too.

I run a bridged modem and separate router, so sadly can't really help there.

Wow, IPv6 is on my AKL Vodafone VDSL line now - awesome stuff, Vodafone! Wonder if that was causing website connection issues over the last month and a bit though.

would not be surprised if there are possible v6 issues on some older modems from spark.
