After reading this entire thread, I would be very skeptical that anyone's upgrade to 1Gb will be all plain sailing. If this thread is anything to go by, expect the worst (although I could be wrong).

D-CMTS is all new end to end which includes new processes so things will take a little time to iron out

Finally back home and can confirm that my internet is back on again.
Another shoutout to @DavidVF for his efforts and those in the background.  It's yet again awesome to see people who actually care enough to make things happen.  While I'm sure the CSR's do a good job most of the time, the fact I got fobbed off twice this morning despite a definite issue leaves a pretty sour taste.

I now await Monday to see if the tech turns up in the morning as arranged with Downer, or in the afternoon as this mornings CSR told me the install was scheduled for.  :-/

If it's still down by tonight I will have to buy extra mobile data and I will minus that off any future bills Vodafone sends me unless they agree to pay for it and avoid a whole drama *winky face*

If anyone is still down after contacting DavidVF please do not buy mobile data. If you are with Vodafone make sure to ask for your mobile data free as per this thread.
