The sources are delivered to VF in Mezz format from Sky. The output delivered to the VFTV STB for HD is 1920x1080p. SD content is delivered to the VFTV STB at 720x576p

Hi, so your playout does the up conversion as opposed to the box or TV, but the orginal in was still some old time low res whatever, right :)

I'm looking forward with bated breath to hear your experience. I'll just say this the interface is quirky and inconsistent and parts of it sometimes don't respond (and say at the top right of the screen something to the effect FUNCTION NOT AVAILABLE).

You will also find that functions appear and disappear depending upon where you are in the menu structure whats more what you are offered and where it's offered during the tv guild can somewhat depend on the channel your you are entering the recording and or playback options. Finally programs seem to expire with little if any warning e.g. you can turn the machine off at night with 97% used space and turn it on the next day and be told you have only used 75% (sometimes less sometimes a little more) for some reason 25% or there about of your content has disappeared overnight.

Yep and what you can record changes from time to time either by design or fault. Recently I had TVNZ ONE NEWS AT SIX disappear from my record list only to reappear about a week or so later. And that's just one example.

For example you can do the TV-One news in 20 minutes without missing anything, for what it's worth. But the interface is clunky and it takes a bit of practice and getting used to.

The 3-day catch-up mode eliminates to need to record a lot of things. Plus you get all the Sky channels in 1080p with no antennas/rain fade.

It's a great product, but in need of proper development.

I wonder if you asked pretty please whether they would return that box to you. One thing I could never really understand about that box is why it needed a cable modem connected to it (probably the guide) but why not have one in the box itself?

My unit has been largely stable (connected directly to router not via wireless).

I wonder though if anyone else has noticed a smearing/flicker when things scroll or move on the screen seems to affect vertical movement more so than horizontal. I don't have this problem with live to air programs straight through the tv and didn't have it previously with my MAGIC TV 360TD (Bless it's little now unreliable heart)

Doesn't need it mine is connect direct to the tv which isn't connected to the internet or any network for that matter.

Eastenders is recordable.
There is no limit to how many programmes you can record at the same time.

Looks as though you can record Eastenders.

My Vodafone TV device was delivered on Friday. Setup was simple and it has worked without fault until this evening.

This evening the device lost its internet connection and wouldn't response regarding of what action I took. I tried switching it 'off' then 'on' again a couple of times before progressing to the factory reset.

I then discovered (from the Vodafone Community forum) that there's some system wide failure with a number of people are reporting the same internet connection fault.

Hopefully, tonight issues are rare. There are a couple of things that could be improved with the Vodafone TV device.

That shouldnt be happening.. not the most pleasant start for you. If you PM me the Serial Number on the bottom of the STB I will take a look.

Is the Box tied to Vodafone account/subscription or relies on Vodafone Broadband for Freeview channels and apps like Netflix or will all that work regardless?
