Hammerer:

Overall, the new user interface is a much more natural experience and it is a more complete feature set than the previous version. 😀

One obvious issue is that I still cannot see data, call minutes and text allowances on the main screen. I consider this to be the basic requirement for this app particularly as it was a feature in the earliest versions. It is galling that instead of displaying such basic and useful information, one third of the screen is now taken up with a movie ticket offer. 😒

I also got an error when accessing my broadband account: View detailed usage | View latest bill gets a 401 error unauthorized exception on api/v2/billingAccounts/retrieve/...

Hi @Hammerer,

Thanks for the feedback.

We're aware of the issue with Daily usage for broadband and we're working with the back-end team to find a solution.

As for the 401 - was this when you resumed from background? We had a race condition that we thought we'd got on top of - looks like we haven't got this completely resolved - we'll get the team back on to it - thanks.

Just wanted to clarify the visibility of data, mins & TXTs - I'm guessing that you're referring to the very early version of the app where we had 3 entitlement circles displayed at the same time. We made a call for the previous version that we'd highlight the Data entitlement given most of our new plans were providing unlimited mins & TXTs. This carried over to the new version - we just changed the way you swap to mins and TXTs from tapping to swiping (i.e. you swipe the top tile to get to the mins & TXTs entitlements). Thanks also for the feedback on the prominence of the news/offers tile.

Thanks again,

Peter

The 401 occurs all the time. Initially, the app hadn't even had a chance to run in the background.

The old app I referred to was an even earlier Vodafone mobile app which displayed data, mins & TXT for all registered phones in a simple tabular list visible on opening the app. That app required no actions to see exactly what was available for all the phones I look after which has been a minimum of four for the last ten years.

I admit that this issue doesn't impact me as much while I'm on post-pay as I've got unlimited TXT and mins. But this issue does mean that the only reason I will consider Vodafone prepay is if all the other competitors' apps have the same deficiency.

Pre orders don't show under 'My Orders'. Is this normal?

I'm not a complete idiot, I still have some parts missing.

timmmay:

I installed the app again. The front page just says "casual rates apply" when I click on data, mins, or txts, and says we're on "corpoprate sure spend (nz). If I go into the "detailed usage" menu I can see usage by day, and if I scroll down it shows me at the bottom what I guess is my data used this billing period - though it could be for the month, or some other period. It's really not obvious what it's showing.

The home screen not showing any useful information about usage, no information about limit, and the ambiguity of the detail screen means the app isn't useful. I guess that's why you need beta testers to help improve it.

In case you didn’t hear back from @PippaC - you’re not seeing the usage total or limits because your plan is Sure Spend, which is designed around ‘soft’ usage allocations and measured against average/pooled usage. Unfortunately this means there is no ‘hard’ limit to track against at an individual level, so it would be too difficult to show in My Vodafone. Happy to PM if you’ve got more questions (don’t want to stray too far off topic!).
