I've found their speed and support to be mostly good, certainly better than clear.net. Though I am very disapointed with their webmail, it is woefully slow more often than not. Today is exceptionally bad for instance, but most days is just mediocre.

Only a minor gripe, but as I access it several times from work (which also xnet) to check my personal e-mail I would expect it to be quite a bit faster.

As for youtube comments, I just tried a 4minute video and it finished downloading in less than a minute, so certainly no issues with speed there.

I can do that during the day too. Try between 8PM and midnight. That's when everything international grinds to a crawl.

Frankly I have a hard time believing that. Or you're certainly not with the same ISP or even ADSL in NZ, fullstop.

I've just done this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F-2zo9DacEc and just had to buffer it for about 5 seconds, after that the buffer stayed ahead all the time. It is 9:45 PM, I would say that is peak time when international bandwidth is supposed to crash. My national speed is around 6.5 Mbps, so not a super-fast connection either. I'm on Fusion and happy, except once last year when a local bank with AU hosted web site came to a crawl, but that is when the torrenters broke the service and was quickly fixed.

ADSL is fine infact my telecom connection can stream youtube fine without a buffer at the start. It is all down to international bandwidth which just isn't cheap and easy to get. Telecom just happen to have a massive pipe

Well I've never been with an ISP that managed that most of the time.

Well, I still "love xnet"....

Last year, I joined up cause they had good customer service (really quick replies), a great geekzone presence, VFX, naked dsl (to get off telecom), and great speeds....

Now, I still "love xnet", because for the price + data they offer, they're still quite attractive. So yes, I still love them as an "el cheapo" ISP.

Yes my wife constantly complains about the speed of the webmail especially recently and to think they want to decomission the feature rich webmail in favour of the rudimentery one too

And I'll say it again when on Earth will WxC make the webmail secure ie https no other ISP treats their customers security so lightly, how hard can it be to load up a SSL cert !

Try using xnet webmail with a PDA or mobile phone..
are there any mobile friendly versions of webmail out there ?
If there are perhaps xnet could look at putting one online ..

Heh, that's ok :-) I was having a WTF??? moment, though *amused* Is broadband very good in the UK? I know it's fairly decent in Canada, or so friends there tell me.

does anyone have slow speed during afternoons and night time? in the mornings after 8am my internet is at full speed....but after 10am-12pm it slows down.....right now (11:26pm) my speed is really slow....its like 4-5 times slower... i would say that i love using xnet in the mornings..very fast but it eventually slows down...i wanna know if anyone has this problem...
