cokemaster: That ought to bring the wifi pricing down. When I was last there, it was $30 for 50mb. Obviously was expensive satellite broadband. I do remember making work calls from the pay phones.

 

Still a few years off I reckon... with be a race between starlink and the fibre cable

Yep, most people don’t realise that Milford Sound is probably one of the most remote places in NZ (connectivity wise). Doubtful Sound and Deep Cove are other places that are remote too, no copper POTS and just one satellite phone.
