Well I got my log periodic antenna and tested it out with my Huawei B818.

This is the initial test just using the internal antenna which is picking up the signal from Opaheke which is actually quite far away.

I the plugged in the antenna and tried a few different angles. The best I got was this which is pointing to the top of the road which is up the hill:

I notice that this is a different cell tower. This is on Sim Road

What do you think? Will adding another log periodic antenna make a difference? I'm quite new to this so am I right in understanding that if I add another antenna this will essentially then use one for in and one for out ie. MIMO? So in terms of signal strength it won't really make a difference?

Thanks again geekzone

So I finally managed to get dual antennas set up and the speeds are pretty reasonable

This is much much faster than my current ADSL.

However I then tried to speak to a Vodafone "salesperson" and they can't offer 4g broadband to me because their system does not show it as available for my address. I kept telling them that I am already able to connect to using my own 4g modem and Vodafone sim card but nada didn't manage to get anywhere with them. Are there "rural" cell towers that are designated to not provide 4g wireless broadband?

They won't deploy more FW customers in areas that are already at capacity as this may give everyone a bad experience. Your area is probably already at capacity.
