Torque:

Is 60ms vs 30ms measurably noticeable? I ask as someone who grew up playing CS 1.0 through 1.6 on dialup..

definitely, as a measurable statistic I dropped rankings when moving to vodafone.

Update: The network has been fixed for a few months now and has been working better than ever as you could probably see from my Speed test on One NZ 5G:

Update:

It has happened again and the latency has now become very high and unstable on the One NZ network in Taranaki.

Again I am seeing my latency hang around 60ms to Auckland on my mobile data instead of the usual 29 Milliseconds I would usually see on 4g/5g. I am even seeing spikes of over 300ms to Auckland with around 3 bars of 5g on my iPhone 13 pro.

This issue is also not related to one tower as I have traveled around the coast from my home (New Plymouth) down towards towards Opunake and have seen the same very high latency results there. This is very frustrating for me as some of the mobile games I play run on servers in the US which has caused my game to be very unstable and hard to play.

I am hoping someone from One NZ would be able to check this out and possibly get it fixed because this has been a very big issue for me and some of my friends (also in Taranaki on One NZ) and has caused me enough rage to go out and buy a prepaid 2degrees sim to use in the mean time while I wait for the latency issue on One NZ to be fixed.

Thanks.
