Just got a call from the online store. Apparently they don't allow me to resign because I'm 1 day away from being eligible to.. so I cancelled the order. Think I'll probably order one from the Apple Store then sign up with Telecom instead. It's really hard to spend $1000 these days..

Theoretically not a single original iPhone plan user will be able to buy the new iPhone today without doing so outright then it would seem. iPhone launched last year on 11 July so the 12 month anniversary for all those that signed up on launch day would be tomorrow.

If no leeway is being given at all then this is one rather large cock-up and slap in the face to loyal iPhone plan users.

I got my order confirmation email at 12:10am, and have heard nothing since. The web site still says they are "just having a look over it now".

I called VF customer service and they could tell me nothing. I'm in Auckland CBD and paid for same day delivery, but am starting to doubt I'll get it today now.
