Any unlucky soul out there like me, who has a 3G phone, but can only access the black and white Vlive page, not even the one with images, much less 3G???
Couldn't someone get the firmware off that mobile repair place then someone like muppet get their tricky tool to rip that b*****d off their and flash it to everyone elses or something like that?
... :( I just bought a V802SE (with Z800i software) from student shop online, they told me it works with NZ vodafone 3G, but it doesnt.... I should have read some post here before I bought it... anyway this V800 I bought, the GPRS doesnt work, vodafone sent me the settings and I used it. VFNZ Internet... doesnt work. It just says connection error or something like that anyone has the same problem? never happened to my K700i or iMate before..
okay now the GPRS and WAP are working, I can connect to the Vodafone Live homepage, now how do I test if my phone can play 3G TV or movie clips?? thanks :) There is a "Streaming settings" in the connectivity, do I set it to "vodafone gateway (live.vodafone.com)" or "GPRS Internet" (www.vodafone.net.nz)
vodafone gateway should do you fine. I dont think you'll have too much luck getting to the 3g services controlled by vodafone live but let us know how it gets on
To the person who suggested reading out a working V800 - That's not possible I'm afriad. The protection on the phone is a bit too good for reading out.
Even if it was to be read out, it needs to be read out before the phone is ever turned on, or before it's been turned on from being reflashed. The reason is that the filesystem is flashed to the phone in a compact format. When the phone's powered on, it "unzips" that file and spreads the contents of it everywhere on the phone's filesystem.
It's then impossible to use those extracted files to generate a working flash file.
Even though the mobile TV and music doesnt work, the video calling still works right? I only know one person who has a 3G mobile phone, but ive lost his phone number :(
