robbyp:I see where you are coming from, in terms of their fibre network, which in general is better than ADSL. If their pricing was lower and they didn't charge so much for 1GB of extra traffic I would look at them. They shouldn't be charging anymore than $1 per GB However their service history does concern me. I have been hearing compliants about their service for over 5 years.

Their prices are higher than others, but you "get what you pay for" in terms of performance.

To me, I'd much rather have awesome performance all the time and have to deal with the nightmare helpdesk once or twice a year, than to have terrible performance but know that someone will pick up the phone straight away when I call.

I think that's the reason they mostly get away with their pisspoor service, because you don't really have to ring in that often (this is highly subjective of course!)

Audiophiles are such twits! They buy such pointless stuff: Gold plated cables, $2000 power cords. Idiots.

OOOHHHH HYPERFIBRE!

So are they doubling the cap or just increasing the speed for the same price?
I cant see the old pricing so I can't tell what I'm on now

Bit of both.. for instance for us we go from $109 for 50Gig 10Mbps up/2Mbps down to $95 for 60Gig 15/2... well I hope so anyway. Have not had any mail from TC to confirm what they will be doing with existing customers yet.

Wow, a price decrease from TelstraClear? Quick, someone call Stephen Hawking, I think one of the Universe's constants just changed!

Of course, the unsurprising part is that it's still very uncompetitive. It's a relatively miniscule change over the last 6.5 years the 10Mbps plans have been around.

*SIGH*

I just got my first bill since TelstraClear forced me onto a newer plan, only to find that they've turned the $3/month wiring maintenance back on without asking...
