I wouldn't mind a non-proxy access, even on opt-in basis. And on TCL cable network is easy to do it, since everyone's got a static IP address anyway...

freitasm: My vote is to just remove the proxy altogether. If it can't work ok (and it's been giving out problems for the last year) then better not have it at all.


Either that or don't charge customers for data that has been cached -  I mean come on, I can understand charging for freshly pulled stuff from overseas but does it really cost them $2.95 for 2GB - really? to throw a few bits of data around the North Island (from proxy to my address) seems a little excessive.

What grinds my gears more is TelstraClear is owned by Telstra Australia - they're hardly 'short on cash' and 'doing it tough' when they have a multibillion dollar parent company.

Still having issues with some exceptionally slow sites....when I say slow..I mean over 5 mins to load eg
