MikeB4:

FYI @MikeHales  although the VF websites reports nil issues speeds are still well below plan rates (700-900) at 78mbps-123mbps to the VF Wellington server. I have also tested by downloading a large file from CHCH and get similar speeds

@MikeB4 As advised they don't notify of 100% of outages and further to this your connection is actually working but well below par so have you called and logged an official fault and got a fault ticket open?

When last did you have a technician visit your property to test things out?

I spent quite a long time on the phone earlier this week discussing this with them, the problem is in the past I would have no issue and argued all the way to the CEO however my health hinders me now as stress can aggravate my condition.

Please lodge a complaint with the TDR.  This is extremely unfair.

I do not want to say much more but I am giving up on this due to health reasons.

Cloud spending continues to surge globally, but most organisations haven’t made the changes necessary to maximise the value and cost-efficiency benefits of their cloud investments. Download the whitepaper From Overspend to Advantage now.

Your choice...but of course the other question is do you really need 1GB connection....maybe 200/20 is worth a try?

Most people would not be able to tell the difference and its cheaper and more reliable it would seem.

We have a lot of traffic such as video conferencing, multiple streams of Netflix, online gaming often concurrently.

Might not "need" it but they should provide what they sell or stop selling it.

Have just skimmed most of this thread, and the problems here are sounding pretty similar to what I've experienced myself recently.  Spent almost an hour on the phone today running speedtests whilst vodafone monitored their end, (I'm on FibreX Max) and best throughput we could get was around 250Mbps.  Over the last week I've had anywhere from a measly 9Mbs to 220Mpbs on speedtests, the overall average though has been closer to 150Mbps.

I do run my own router, but even using the vodafone router nothing above 200Mbps was achieved whilst they were monitoring.

My issue has been passed to Network team to investigate further ...

That sounds all too familiar, I hope you have better success than I have managed.

Just published on TrueNet:

July 2017 Urban Broadband Report

TrueNet Comparison Tools

"FibreX" cable shows up between "real" fibre and VDSL.

This tool enables comparisons independent of ISP.

There is also an ISP comparison tool which explores speed and price for unlimited, naked long-term priced services by ISP for each of the technologies.

Forums › Vodafone New Zealand › Vodafone Ultra Home Hub - new adsl/vdsl/cable/fibre modem/wireless router

Vodafone have released a new modem/wireless router for ADSL VDSL cable and fibre, the Vodafone Ultra Home Hub.

The "Vodafone Ultra Hub" is officially the "Vodafone H-500-t".

This (?Technicolor) modem/router is not to be confused with the Technicolor 4400 cable modem
