After having to pull the plug to get the unit to switch on, its just picked up a firmware upgrade which I assume is the Beta.

Will see how this goes

Yes, you can only watch recording if you subscribe to the associated channel.

So here is an interesting question, Many people have smart remote, smart homes systems like Control4, Crestron, RTI, URC and so on.

My question is:
- Does the Gen2 "The One" box support IR? If so does it have discrete Codes for things like power on, power off. starting apps and so on.

- Would it be possible to control the box over IP? If so can I have the API Spec? If not can I make that an official request?

Many home automation installers (Like myself) are going to start having to deal with this new box. But if there is no way to make it work with the control systems then we are pretty much screwed.

I have ordered myself a gen2 box to start playing with, I'm hoping it's going to be a simple integration :-)

Hi,

1. yes, Gen2 supports both BLE and IR remote commands.   We are working with Logitech to create an official profile for them.  DM me if you'd like to discuss your requirements.

2. no, not via a standardised API.

For anyone interested it looks like PBTech are selling the box for $159 this weekend.

I’m keen to buy one but I sometimes listen to TV via Bluetooth headphones. Have currently set it up with a device from an audio out plug. From reading this thread this doesn’t seem possible with Vodafone TV. Is there a way to connect Bluetooth headphones to the device?

I listen through Bluetooth headphones, My TV has Bluetooth sound out.
Probably can’t do from VFTV direct, just if TV it’s plugged into supports it.

Your TV may have an Audio Out port which you could use with your device. We do this with a Phonak TV II Base Link for a Blue Tooth device which interfaces with my wife's hearing aids from a Sony Bravia KDL-60EX720 TV with the Vodafone Gen 2 TV Set Top Box connected to HDMI Port 2.

I got the following response from Sky to a Complaint:

Hello Ivan

Thanks for contacting us and sorry to hear you had an issue when trying to record the Netball on your Vodafone box.

However you'll need to contact Vodafone regarding this issue as far as we are aware there were no issues with being able to record this match.

Regards
Jill

However This Constellation Cup Program on Sunday has no record option on the Guide for the Vodafone TV Gen2 Set Top Box. Is this a Guide Problem at Vodafone?
