To be fair, for accurate diagnostics you need to know where it works and where it doesn't.  So knowing where it does work is not a bad thing.  The bad thing is the speed that people get their panties in a bunch.  If instead of getting bunched up they'd said "oh guess it's just a problem on the TCL side then", rather than "[s]he's saying that I'm wrong" we wouldn't have had silly arguments in this thread.

Its highly likely his connection has the same problem everyone else is experiencing, but he simply hasn't encountered it. Weighing into the conversation with "there is nothing wrong with my connection" is incredibly unhelpful, unless he is prepared to actually run tests relevant to the issue being discussed he actually has no idea if there is anything wrong with his connection or not.

Thank you so much John. <3

Does this mean that the other Vodafone guy lied?

I wonder if Vodafone have any idea how much money this (OP and JohnR) has saved them in potential lost customers, and support enquiries. I hope someone gets a beer out of it.

It does beg the question, how many people so far have submitted tickets about AU servers and been told the same thing as I was? I'm just incredibly thankful that John took me seriously enough to check.

freitasm: I don't mind saying where it works - but the thread went on an off topic rant from all sides about the network quality as a service indicator instead, which doesn't help keeping things in focus.

Welcome to Internet forums :-)  But seriously in terms of balance conversational balance here in GZ, the perverse side effective of trying to create a friendly atmosphere through language filters and moderation is a vein of nannyism that leads to pointless bickering.  To me it seems to have become worse since Christmas.  I think the fix is to try and encourage people to have a sense of humour.

It would be great if everyone had a sense of humour, but there are some who, well, think of propelling do do's up a gradient with a sharpened power pole. Even the most enlightened eventually snap :)

I initially read that as Dodos and must say it sounds like a better movie  than Jurassic Park :-)
