am now suffering this cable slow performance as I type this.
I am on cable 100/10 in Wellington (Brooklyn) and suffering on youtube buffering even on just 144p. other sites are also affected like stuff.co.nz and facebook.

I know that voda is doing the work on this issue but hopefully it will be soon...

YouTube performance is okay for now (knock on wood), but the connection's definitely suffering on downstream.

Almost a week of rock-solid performance too. Thought maybe it was mostly sorted out here. D:

On the subject of YouTube and performance I came across this link the other day: https://www.google.com/get/videoqualityreport/ which, for a Vodafone connection, states that Vodafone is a HD Verified network and so we should expect no issues when watching HD videos.

Does also have a pretty graph that one could read as an indicator of when connections start suffering as you see the non-HD traffic increase between 19:00 and 21:00...

Good spotting, makes it pretty clear:

And it should be noted that performance has to be really bad to knock cable speeds down enough that 720p isn't possible, let alone only getting "LD" streaming.

Not yet... Not as low as some of the other folks, but still a good 1/4 of the speed I can get daytime.

Work still in progress.

Quite a few nodes in Wellington, are you sure they are all sorted?

Definitely not sorted in Wellington for me. Not as bad as last night which was 10-20mbps (i'm on VF cable 100). So far its fluctuating between 60-70

... but an improvement on the ANZAC weekend.

The blue "Connection Speed Average" line represents hourly speed figures for a cohort of Wellington cable users, as tested by Truenet over the past 7 days.

The 8pm-10pm performance dip is less severe than a week ago, but is still pretty spectacular.

I am trying to download an update for a new device I received here today. After attempting the download (cable 130 Mbps) a few times and failing, I switched to my backup connection (Snap ADSL 10 Mbps) and it's now done on the first attempt.

That's how bad it is.
