VodafoneDylan: Hi everyone

Our Gigatown plans are now live.

Existing customers will be moved to the Gigatown plans at their next plan renewal. I understand there'll be an email soon with more details.

New customers can sign up to a Gigatown plan by calling the sales team, and the plans will also be available to purchase at our site in the next week or so.

There's more information on the site at http://www.vodafone.co.nz/gigatown/

Thanks for your patience.

Dylan

WTF, so you are saying the LIED during the last 6 months. The gigatown page said that "you will be upgraded to gigabit speed once we announce plans", but now you are saying people that signed up will have to wait until the end of their contact before being able to upgrade? That is even MORE insulting than vodafone  staff to customers over the last year,(and that saying something!).

I took it to mean customers will be upgraded/moved at the next monthly renewal/billing cycle.

Confirming that by plan renewal I mean the monthly billing cycle when you get a fresh allocation of things to use. I guess it is kind of a jargon term and relates more to mobile plans.

Edit - changed "plan renewal" to "monthly billing cycle".

Ok so my plan renewed on 2 July. Have i received the email Dylan mentions. No. Has my gigatown plan been activated. No. Am I surprised by this? No. It's all too familiar. Time to get rid of my ihug and es.co.nz email addresses and move on. Its been a long time but enough is enough. Coincidentally (or maybe not)Spark has offered to pay my termination fee. Out of interest has anyone with vodafone had a gigatown package activated yet?

You could just ask if someone could take a look the Vodafone staff here on Geekzone volunteer our time we are not paid for this

Have you restarted ONT? If that does not work then one of us can take a look Monday

Thanks

Sounds like you weren't on a qualifying plan to be automatically switched over. Please send me a private message with your account details and I'll ask about it.

I moved to the 100/20 plan in February when the initail announcement was made and was on the list to get the phone call re the delay due to testing some time ago. Thank you both for your efforts.

It is sad to see some people who join to complain, when proven wrong don't come back to say "Sorry".

Lookint at you sweetasman01.

People should have more balls than that.

It's a dying shame we also have people that just can't seem to have some respect for ISPs efforts. Sure I've been screwed over before by Vodafone but I don't slander them off. Vodafone are really trying here and I'm glad they are trying to get it right.

Good effort on Vodafone really.
Also thanks freitasm and the moderators for keeping this forum clean

Thanks, yes, you're right. You were on the correct plan, the upgrade order has gone through but it's still showing as 100/20. A colleague has emailed provisioning asking for it to be investigated.

Edit - That will be sorted by the end of the day. Thanks to Kate in the social media team and Kane in provisioning.

Thank you all. I have a strange attachment to my es.co.nz email address and really did not want to move to another provider because of this. Hopefully will be able to post a link showing my blisteringly fast speeds tomorrow :)
