I agree though, Vodafone needs to unify its billing systems, its a huge, complex task that has just got bigger and considerably more expensive.

Salami:
Sorry but you'll be stuck on different bills unless they are willing to spend a XX million dollars for a new system

For a company with revenue measured in billions per annum, that spent nearly a billion dollars on the purchase of TelstraClear(well over if you include the interest), that seems like a relatively small price to pay.

Na they don't earn billions per annum and they are probably worse off acquiring Telstraclear.

They probably borrowed money off Europe Vodafone and thought that they would be able to pay it off but little did they know it became a bigger mess and have been losing a few XX million of dollars each year.

.. This is just a speculation though but them losing money after buying Telstraclear is a true story.

Their system is like Linux talking to Mac talking to Ubuntu.

There's no relationship between all 3 systems . They talk differently.
Not to meantion the billing system, provisioning system, fault system, the system that handles the internal ports , DSLA, Circuit IDS, UCLL Tie Pairs etc.

It's very complex and it'll be a nightmare integrating everything.

Well I just hope Vodafone's management better be careful what they are planning.

I've had a former TCNZ engineer tell me that VF's main interest was spectrum, not infrastructure. Indeed, they refused to entertain the idea of using existing TC fibre at a customer's premises that ran right into the data room. They insisted on wanting us to get VDSL then later UFB into the building instead. Then failing to ever start the job for months. We gave up and went to WXC, and are now thinking: bugger.

Slight flaw in that analogy :P

lol ok not ubuntu but windows then.

VF's Main interest are numbers of connections connected but not the quality of the infrastructure or the quality of their calls this is why they have so many complaints on facebook.
As reported from news agency like stuff , nzherald they would report on the number of mobile connections connected probably a guess from their side or VF's "quote" but what people don't realise yes they have successfully connected 10 thousand mobile/landline connections but what are the number of people leaving.
When you balance that out you'll probably realise that they are losing customers more than gaining.

They probably laughed at Telecom for changing their name to Spark thinking that it would fail due to many people not liking the name spark but at the end it's vodafone that end up being laughed at for the awful management of systems between TCL, IHug and VF.

People are still being charged by VF and TCL system at the same time.

Vodafone didn't think much about processes and issues when they bought Telstraclear.
They make very bubbly ads, sparking advertisements and design luring customers into the company but at the end its not so great being with VF.

Really poor management.

It's really sad.

Andib: Annnnd a 4th billing system to add to the mix.
Vodafone Mobile, iHug, Telstraclear and now WXC

My experience is that there are two billing systems comprising Vodafone Mobile, pre and post pay, so make that five.  If there aren't two, then the lack of integration between them so one could migrate between them without the substantial grief I've suffered is significant incompetence.

Damn just saw this post :\

And have to say that I am damn glad I didn't sign up for the unlimited bundle and be locked in for 2 years. Well I suppose nothing might change and it might be all awesome still, but I think Voda's track record speaks for itself, and think I will start to look for alternatives

Well that's good then! :) Are you guys planning on staying separate from Vodafone and more or less keep running how you have been? I'm with Vodafone currently and pretty keen to get away from them haha. Been looking at plans for the past several days and honestly your fusion unlimited plan sounds the best, we currently get 50mbps down on VDSL I'm assuming it will stay the same with you guys? Thanks.

yes that's correct, we are operating stand alone with the same services we currently have, should be no change with this on your VDSL speeds
