It was my impression that no work on porting went on after 4pm mon-fri. Is this incorrect? my phone which has been accepted for porting has not yet been fully enabled ( Started at 12:30 yesterday ).The telecom phone is working as normal, but the vodafone sim has stopped working and is unable to do anything anymore (clearly something has been started). Is this proccess likely to be completed over the weekend or will it wait until monday?

Experience so far regarding porting 021 Telecom number to Vodafone....

#1:  Was intitally thought by staff to be OK to port to On Account, but then, they said it's not "ready yet" after speaking with Vodafone Channel (I presume the staff helpline?)

#2:  Now porting into Prepay.  There's a one-list "help-sheet" issued to staff that I saw.  First Mobile Botany staff very helpful, but have no clue at all what to do....

#3:  I bought a Vodafone prepay pack on last Sun.  Activated it too.  But it's now Thursday night, and after 5 calls back to First Mobile (Vodafone), and them claiming to have "escalated" this to the Vodafone porting team, there has been no reply back so far...

#4:  Everyone at the store now knows my name........

P.S:  Yes, I am porting a "021" TELECOM number TO Vodafone.

brad_p: Prepay to On Account porting should be launched on May 6

does this date also apply to the reverse porting - On Account to Prepay?

Sorry my previous post was suppose to say OA to PP porting 6 May. As for PP to OA on the same date, not too sure but I would assume so

How does one get hold of these retention team members? Do I call egypt and ask them to not get a return call or is there another number for them? I am assuming they are the ones that are there to try to stop people defecting from vodafone so have a bit more wiggleroom with plans and stuff then the retail stores, would they be able to get a 021 prepay number moved onto one of the vodem plans with the $10 gig insurance without getting a term or is that unliky?

Torque: Has anyone heard if Vodafone on account porting into vf prepay is now live?

I am also waiting with baited breath for this to be available, so I phoned up yesterday and asked a CSR about it.  She said that:

"We are not allowed to give a definite date, but I can tell you that further information will be available next week".

Frustrating eh Frown

First we are told May 6, then May 15, now it's next week for "further information".

We live in hope that it will happen before the end of May...
