Appears to be rebranding as “one” (not sure of stylising) tomorrow. Which makes sense… they just drop the “f” from “fone” to make it “one”.

How will this work for the Warriors, given they just re-signed? One Warriors?

How can One be a trade name?  Its like saying an apple can be trade name, how dumb....

On a serious note, this bizarre happening is part of the play, get people yakking about all this = Marketing 101

It will hit the media frenzy, which is free advertising.

Lockedbag: I predict the two lead 6pm news items tomorrow…

1, Costco grand opening
2, Vodafone NZ rebrand.

Wonder which way around they will go on the night.

Dont think so, both are a bit above media frenziness. (  (C) new word  )

Unless One gives 7 Sharp a few lattes to control the "news" 7 Sharp would lap it up

And it’s owned by… Jason Paris. So this is the logo. Wow. It’s not great.

Interesting choice - guessing the cost of using the brand got too big, so DIY time.

Not that impressed by the brand image/icon if that is it - but Sparks is similarly uninspiring. Noughts and crosses theme anyone, then thinking 2 degrees (then thinking about Three mobile).

Jo Stansfield is the admin contact for the domains - ex. Vodafone Transformation lead (guessing still involved but as a consultant?)

Wonder how quick they are going to be on the replacement sites/services branding.

I'm guessing that it's going to be cheaper to rebrand stuff into that circle given that's what the Vodafone logo was mostly anyway, just without the small shark fin tip at the top. Will be interesting to see if they do it like Spark and change everything overnight, or whether it's going to be a gradual rebrand.

Wonder if OnePlus will have anything to say about the brand name in connection with telecommunications?

Or 1&1 for that matter.

Maybe there is a bit of a unity theme here...

Dammit, I told them to get Geekzone in on the embargo!

/s of course, I am officially still out of the loop until ~9am tomorrow

I thought it was the RAN team just having a laugh.

Guess we will find out tomorrow at 9AM :)

Their website still says Vodafone, for now (at least).

I guess all the goodwill in the Vodafone brand doesn't really count for anything anymore? Otherwise we would still have Shell as well, not "Z" (whatever that stands for).

BellSouth has a nice ring to it.

It does, but if this is a rebrand to not pay royalties anymore, I imagine "BellSouth" would run into the same issue.

Wonder how much they paid for the ONE domain.

Vodafone are very protective of their brand and I wouldn't have expected them to allow this setup to continue for long.

I did think ONE was a hark back to Vodafone One a few years ago, but that seems to have died a death pretty quickly.

So good on this lot for moving away from the all-seeing eye to... oh wait.

Anyway, I imagine a lot of marketing money is going to be spent now into the Christmas period creating the new brand and what it stands for, how it makes you feel and all those warm tingly things so beloved of creatives.

Hope they spend some money on their products and being genuinely different from the other 2 mobile carriers... because beyond broadband and mobile, what differentiates them exactly?

and before anyone says cool prices on new gadgets.... the NZ:US $ is getting smashed to pieces (currently at $0.56 from $0.70 at start of year. that's a massive shift), and now they are genuinely standalone and have to recreate themselves as a NZ based carrier, a tiny player in a tiny market.

😎

Why is it when I hear “One” I think of this some. The loneliest number to call?
