heavenly_wild: I have said it before and I will say it again... this is third world service.
I don't care if it is Vodafone's vendor letting them down. At the end of the day, we are paying for Vodafone's service and we are not getting it.

Damn Straight, this has literally been going on for about three weeks. It is up to them to provide the service, its not our fault if the back end fails, its theirs, its not like we dont pay them enough through our high network costs. Absolutely appalling. Im shifting my company to NZ Comms or Telecom, when they go live.

Same here. I don't see why I should pay $$$ each month for 3G data when they can't deliver it. The lack of communication from Vodafone shows that they are not concerned.

Received a call from VFNZ support today, who mentioned that Christchurch had major network upgrade last night. Have been having call dropouts in the last fortnight. None today, but performance is still woeful. (54kbs down)

Is this issue still occurring in Auckland CBD?  If I put my phone on 3G/2G I just get "No Service" (on Symonds Street), but if I force 2G then I do get coverage...  I had the same issue yesterday as well.  From home (Remuera) when I enable 3G I get full 3G coverage and it works fine.
This is also happening to another person I checked with in the office, so I don't think this is a handset problem.
Getting a bit annoying having to use super slow data on GPRS...

If your phone on manual or automatic network selection? It's not trying to connect to another network is it?

Auto, if I manually select Vodafone then each time I lose signal the iPhone pops up with a error saying the network was lost (which is annoying).
Auto should work fine though, as far as I understood Vodafone SIM's aren't set to allow you to use Telecom/NZComms, so it shouldn't be connecting to them.

HSDPA was still messed up today. I stuck with 2g all day and had no problems though.
