I went to the website and put in every Vodafone number from my contacts in there, as well as a couple colleagues' contacts lists, none of them won either. It was only about 100 numbers, but still, I can't even say I know someone who knows someone who won!

Lets do the mathes. Say Vodafone has 2,000,000 connections (guessing here).

1,000 of those connections wins $1,000 credit. That means every customer had a 0.05% chance of winning $1,000 credit.

In other words, 1 in every 2,000th customer won $1,000 credit.

So you'd have to check 2,000 numbers for you to reveal 1 winner on average.

Sooo... i guess you're more likely NOT to know a winner than know a winner :)

Then again the very first number I put in could have been a winner. Anyway the point is I didn't win and no one I know won!

I see the animated banner on the Vodafone home page has "021 - XXX - XXXX" in it where the X's roll over.

Does Vodafone marketing not realise "021" isn't necessarily a Vodafone phone anymore?

A good chunk of the population continues to assume 021 is Vodafone though I suppose.

I didn't win either :-( But I should really check my voicemails hehe.

On the other hand I'll enjoy not paying my last Vodafone bill for a few months, then make them phone me every couple of weeks for another part payment.

Make them work for their money like I've had to work for good cell signal. :)

I imagine I'll feel the same about Telecom in a year from now!
