well, the two places I spend most time is home and work, and I have access to fixed line internet and wifi at both places.

If I was elsewhere and wanted to do any serious amount of data usage I would be using my dongle via mylaptop to connect - i.e. mobile BROADBAND, where I have a 1GB plan.

The mobile INTERNET on my handset basically only gets used for a) email/calendar synching b) settling bets at the pub (by googling the answer)

that's it. I would struggle to use >100MB in a month.

My iPhone usage tends to be around 60mb a month, which would consist of Exchange syncing and two or three ten minute internet browsing sessions a day. I use mobile sites rather than full HTML, use WiFi at home and I don't tether to the Mac (I have a seperate Vodem connection for that).

I'm actually surprised at how low my usage is, but I can see how 100Mb a month would be perfectly adequete for a lot of users.

Talk about the poor second cousins. Poor because our pockets are being gouged.

That is a great deal... But remember it is not 1-1.. $100AU is about $128NZ.
Though for $130 I would pay to have unlimited everything...

you'd have to live in Australia though.

NZ has about the population of Sydney... it's a completely different market so comparing us to overseas is kinda pointless. Just look at the world of broadband, we don't have high speed (25-100Mbit) unlimited plans for $50-100USD either.

Its a great deal for 'mobile' use.

I don't use much data at all browsing trademe, email, facebook, Nokia maps.

Then there is MusicStation, MobileSky that are all unlimited use for not much $$
