You seem to be sarcastic? So what would you have done in my case? You have monitored your useage correctly but get a bill stating somthing else. You ring up countless times and visit the store you brought it from twice? Your looking at buying a home in the next two months and anything on your credit record could screw it up (loan approval).... As far as I'm concerned they are crooks. I hope you get an incorrect bill from them in the future and see how you are treated. But you probably have a vested interest in them anyways!

Um, I have no idea what in blazes you are talking about.  I'd strongly recommend reading before shooting your mouth off to avoid further embarrassment.

Read what I have been posting. I thought you were being sarcastic.. considering what you have been posting in this thread so far .... reply by Kyanar: # 331546 posted on 17-MAY-2010 21:48 "...That said, I don't feel any sympathy for the "victims". Reading is a lost bloody art these days, isn't it?"

I'd strongly recommend you read and don't forget what you have posted before shooting your mouth off. I'm not embarrassed but you should be.

No, I shouldn't be.  And yes, you should be.  The victims in this specific case both got "bill shock" because they did not read through their contracts.  Mitigated somewhat by the fact that Vodafone is crap at providing valid information (I noticed that the screwups in the phone call test were the Egypt operators, and I'd bet the screwups in the hidden camera trial were First Mobile).

An actual case where Vodafone (or Telecom, or 2 degrees) messes up billing is a completely different beast.  That's not "bill shock" either - that's an outright screwup on the telco's part.  That would include your story provided the facts are accurate, and the issue coming up on this Tuesday's Target where someone got a 7 billion dollar bill.

A credit was loaded onto an account but in the dollar field they put the mobile number 6421xxxxxx and loaded a credit for $64.21x.xxx.x the credit stayed on the account for 3 minutes before alarm bells rang and the credit was removed. So when customer got the invoice they saw a credit and a debit for this amount.

You can't just 'nuke' stuff out of an accounts receivable system because there needs to be an audit trail, although I suppose the billing system could theoretically be configured to hide offsetting transactions from bills within certain parameters.

MPI: UPDATE:

Just got a call from Vodafone. They are going to reimburse me $238 because they said they have a policy called "Bill Shock". They are still not accepting liability for the mix-up and refuse to return the $150 fee for ending my contract with them, even though it is clearly their fault (see attached jpg for billing sample). I know for a fact that it is up to their sole discretion weather or not to refund that money.... I also asked for interest for the outstanding amount that they have had sitting in there bank account for over 2 years!! Not forth coming.... I'm still not happy, to me I gave them an interest free loan for two years (or at least interest set at the rate of inflation).

I think I will have to take them to the TDR for the rest of the money! 150 Plus interest (set at the rate of inflation, its what banks have to pay when they reimburse funds) on my money they have held for two years!

Over four weeks later and I'm still waiting for the check in the mail?.... I'm hoping its just the snail mail this time...
