Hi All,

Have requested to get this topic unlocked as I am having issues with the HG556a and VoIP over the USB data card.
When setting sip up etc works fine, but under sip -> sip advanced, only two interfaces are there to choose for the sip connection (pppoa and nas)

What I am wondering is if anyone has had any luck getting VoIP to work on this over HSPA?

I have tried everything that has been said here, even tried looking around in telnet and doing things like voice set hspa all enable etc to no avail.
I am registering the HG556a to my own SIP server (which I have confirmed works from outside) - All I ever get on the HG556a is a dial tone then after dialing I get a busy tone.

Voice show shows that all the info has been correctly entered and is enabled properly, but I never get to see past "Unregistered"

If someone can help me get this working I would be so grateful!

Cheers
Chris

Hi, sounds like you had the same problem as me.

you just need to to switch it to the Phone/Aux port on the back.

SIP profile 1 = Phone/AUX port.

Works fine for me.

let me know if you have any issues.

Hi,

Already had the phone plugged into both ports to no avail. What else do you recommend I try?

I got connected up with Vodafone Naked Broadband a couple of weeks ago and the Huawei hg556 modem turned up last week.  I am having trouble getting it connected to 2talk.

i already have an iPhone (Bria), Linksys SPA2102 and a PC running X-Lite successfully connected to 2talk through the Huawei.

It appears that I am on B029 firmware.  I have followed the instructions elsewhere in this thread, but still not connected.

I have checked and double checked, but still no joy.  Has anyone with B029 firmware got this working?

What's up with the 092814505-3? Are you sure you need the -3 on the end?

And you also telnetted in and went voice set all enable?

With 2talk you can have up to 6 devices on the same line. the -1, -2, -3 etc signify which device it is. It allows you to have tham all ring at once, or subsequently delaying which one rings. I already have 092814505, 092814505-1 and 092814505-2 working successfully.

I have tried the Huawei router as 092814505, but it will still not connect.

Yes I have tried the voice set all enable and it does say that it has worked. However, the behaviour of the router indicates that it has not.

Thats why I was wondering if the latest firmware (B029) is still blocking VOIP.

Could it be due to the normal SIP ports being already used (by the SPA/Xlite/iPhone?)

I have moved forward a tad. The telnet command shows that the number is registered but BUSY with 2talk (the 2talk LIVE interface shows that it is connected). The other devices connected to the 2talk account were not in use.

Phone is plugged into Phone/Fax port (SIP 1).

Any ideas?

I am trying to do the same on my HG556 but for some reason under Device Info > Services Status, Telephony is not available.

Telephony
Your telephony service is not available.

I've tried doing the telnet command to enable it but doesn't seem to work.

I have a variation on this one...

In order to extend my Wifi system at home, I've got a Linksys WAG120N plugged into my VF Naked DSL port with a patch lead connection my HG556a at the other end of the house. All on the same IP network. DHCP running from the Linksys, DHCP Server disabled on HG556a (seems to then operate in DHCP Relay mode - which works for me).

Re SIP configuration, I've got a:
- 2Talk Account configured for One number so all phones ring at once
- SPA942 which will work on either router - uses the base number from 2Talk
- an analogue phone plugged into the HG556 - SIP port 1 (phone/fax) - configured for the -1 extn from 2Talk
- an iPhone with a Bria appl that works seamlessly across the wifi - uses the -2 extn from 2Talk

Problem - the HG556 SIP port 1 connection will not register with 2 talk.  I've tried almost everything to get it up and running.  I've done the telnet/voice cmds thing, but it still won't register.

BUT... if I plug the HG556 directly into the DSL cct, it registers and works....

I've tried combinations of SIP ALG enabled/disabled on the two routers... but it refuses to register....

Any one with any ideas - I'm all out

Reason this wont work is it seems that the SIP service requires that the DSL connection be up for it to register and activate. I have been trying to get SIP to work over 3G but again this doesn't work due to the ADSL service not being up.

I have added a console port to mine and still am unable to get it to work so unless Huawei come out with something, you're out of luck unfortunately Frown

I thought that may be the case.... :(

Looks like I' need to swap the routers back around and get an ATA for my Linksys to connect my Analogue phone at the other end of the house.

Thanks for that quick response - much appreciated.
