thecatsgoolies: I signed up this morning. Same price for next 12 months and one off fee of $99 which covers the modem and install. Hope I dont don't have to wait too long

It's a shame they don't offer free modem like orcon does, even for their existing customer.

Orcon don't offer free modem. They offer free modem rental.

You never actually own the modem and have to give it back if you leave (which means courier bags etc. big pain in the bum)

Seems as though you cannot sign up online through 'My Account' if you are an existing customer?

You have to go over a 12 month contract regardless for existing customers.

I contacted vodafone on twitter for a friend who's on a telstraclear plan, and ^HL said they had to see the term out and could not upgrade to a better vodafone adsl plan. Both them and I were very disappointed at hearing this, because Snap and Telecom both allow you to shuffle plans within contract, and they could get a larger data plan for cheaper.
As a result once they see the term out, they are more interested in swapping to a less restrictive ISP instead.

Side quick question, can someone with a paradise email address still keep it on Vodafone's current plans?

The data caps are still only 80, 150, or 250GB/month - no unlimited option.

So you flat out wont sell VDSL connections to existing ADSL2 customers in a cable area?

I want to move my parents onto VDSL, who are currently with Vodafone and have SKY bundled.

They do not like the T-box/VF TV and would like to stay with mySKY. Only purchasing cable + phone and having mySKY is more expensive so not an option. The same goes for the 3 way cable service packs.

Hi eXDee,

Originally you would have signed the contract with Telstra clear which at the time was its own company or still trading under Telstra Clear. That contract is still valid to them.

Vodafone customers can move between plans but the contract signed was under TCL terms not Vodafone and the contract will still be valid with the purchase of Telstraclear

One of the things I seriously hated with TCL was Contracts that locked you to a plan, instead of a service. No flexibility, or ability to change plans based on situations, price or circumstances.

We are getting upgraded on Thursday afternoon. We only live 2 doors away from the cabinet but think the cable length goes a bit further as the original cabinet was across the road, has since been moved down a side street.
Looking forward to all the extra speed!

Just a PSA here - You can absolutely move to a Vodafone VDSL plan if you're still under a current contract on a legacy TelstraClear plan. The current contract term is waived, and a new 12 month term begins with the VDSL service. So all go in this department. If anyone needs a hand switching across, flick me a PM, & I'll get the right people from the sales team in touch. :)

Trying to get some concrete info re: Paradise as Paradise is a separate billing system that was linked to TelstraClear accounts, and would historically have required a $10 per 28 days charge to have the account remain active.
