Nope. Posts pointing out about a problem would be better served if other people with the same problem can post their experiences. Just saying "it works for me" then attracts lots of comments that just cloud the issue - off topic, not helpful.

Not only that, when people deliberately post these one-liners, contrarian type posts just to be confrontational -- I note that a certain somebody has recent form for doing this in this very subforum which led to a pretty big derailing and required significant mod intervention -- it just invites confrontation.

Anyhow, good on VF for fixing this.

Vodafone tech support has fix almost all of the routing for Australian BF4 servers. All but a few ping below 110ms. Here are ones they missed. The first four are 109.200.213.x addresses, and I can't get a ping for the final two (203.98.81.81, 203.98.81.82) which I could before the routing incident occurred).

No change. Ping times are still rubbish for twitch.tv on Vodafone UFB and I am still seeing pauses in low bitrate streams.

Update: I'd like to add some more Australian [FPSG] battlefield 4 servers to the ones from which I no longer get any ping response. Two of the [FPSG] servers are currently populated, so something is very wrong with the routing to 203.98.81.8(n). There's also 203.98.67-69, possibly more, which have an additional problem of vanishing and reappearing every battlelog refresh.

What you're doing could be considered concern trolling, which is equally disruptive, and continues confrontation.

That up till 2 weeks ago it was 170ms. The East coast of the US which is geographically further away is currently 210ms.

The discussion is about routing through some regions, not about direct latency.

The specific issue seems to be fixed - thanks John and the rest of the Vodafone team.

Not when when pretty much all other NZ ISP's are regularly delivering <200ms to the same servers... I would change away from an ISP that regularly delivered 2x worse latency to servers I regularly used.

If you had to stay on cable (no vdsl or want low dsl rate due to distance) I'd use a vpn/tunnel to get better routing (which is sad).

They fixed some specific routes, there are probably many more that are still rubbish with the transit provider used for the cable network.

It's a legacy they inherited when they acquired Telstraclear that's not ideal.

It's great JohnR are is getting some of them fixed though.

Would be interesting to know if they are actively working on migrating the Cable network to use the same providers (eg: Vocus etc) that their DSL/Mobile/Fibre network does?

Thank you for your help, John. There's been no change in the tracerts for the first four BF4 servers. The [FPSG] servers whose tracerts timed out yesterday now return ping times, but they're all very high ping times. VF tech support is one step closer than yesterday, though.

I've just been trying out some video streams and I can watch low bitrate streams without them pausing The video buffer contents start to drop with anything over 2.8Mbps. It's still an improvement over what I had.

There is clearly been improvements to the Servers Australia thanks to the changes to date by Vodafone.
The team at Vodafone will be taking on all the feedback here and making changes to make further improvements.

With many things resolution works faster when all parties work towards a common goal.

I too use many of these servers and am on the Vodafone Cable network.
I contacted each of the game server providers involved to let them know about the issues and frustration that the routing is causing.

The team at Servers Australia have already been working on improvements and Dedicated Gaming are working with their upstream to assess possible options.

Please watch this space as i get news.
Its clear that the server providers, Vodafone and i like all of you want to see the connectivity improve so we can get back to enjoying these great games and apps.

That's all the Aussie BF4 server routing fixed. Battlelog shows the ping time gradient to be nice and smooth, running from 46ms to 113ms. Good job.

I like to watch people play BF4, too (and CS GO). Can you do anything for twitch.tv? The tracert is a dunger.
