I've had no problems at all with Youtube one One UFB in Kapiti, until this weekend (28th/29th). Starting Saturday 39th, the Youtube app has been unable to play videos over WiFi on my phone. Can play Youtube within browser on the same phone. Can play Youtube over Google Cast running on same WiFi network. Drove me nuts - I've tried resetting router, tried other routers, reinstalled YouTube, etc

Mine is CS1098181
But not sure how gelpful it will be while talking to the support staff at one

Also been having this issue on One NZ fibre which I just noticed last Thursday and still hasn't resolved. Apps won't update or install (get stuck on pending) on my home wifi and Youtube won't play videos - though it will search and load the comments. Weirdly I can chromecast from youtube to my Sky Pod and Smart TV, but it just won't play on the phone itself. It all works with mobile data (also One NZ). Was about to start a thread looking for suggestions but seems like it's not only me. I'v tried enabling IPv6 on my router which I found suggested somewhere but it made no difference.

Im pretty sure it's how one nz is routing traffic to google servers(youtube/google play) out of wellington. As using a vp resolves the issue.

I guess if asany people log the incident with one then it might be escalated faster and gives them more data to diagnose the issue

Does anyone have an incident/problem number from reporting to OneNZ? I've followed up today on my issue but handy if I can link them to a open ticket/issue

Cheers

Still not working for me but tested with a vpn and works fine so does seem to be how One Nz are routing the traffic.

Yeah been trying to tell them that it's how they route traffic but they keep asking about my router. Support said they cant trace my traffic if it's not one of their modems (they mean router not the ont modem) guess keep logging incidents until they escalate to one of their technical teams!

Same here in Kapiti/Paraparaumu - been about four or five days now unable to download apps on Android via WiFi. Small issues buffering video on Crunchyroll and YouTube but not too noticeable - main issue is every Android phone/tablet in the house stuck on pending when trying to download apps.

Even tried factory resetting our entire setup, giving a new SSID, enabling IPv6, changing DNS, etc etc.

Hopefully One NZ can figure this out and fix soon as it's insanely frustrating, especially after running out of mobile data from updating larger apps that were queued up.

I think keep raising the issue with one nz support. Will catch them up today as well

It was okay again in Island Bay last night. I managed to watch a half hour Youtube video at around 6pm last night with no problems.

Yep, having an online chat with them now - provided the previous ticket number as well. They've said they're forwarding it to their Tier 2 team and are going to follow up for tracerouting at some point.

My ticket number is CS1100678 if anyone else wants to contact them and provide some supporting info.

I remember years ago i had a similar issue but there was another forum(on theirs website? that vodafone(as they were back then) actively engaged in and a one of the network engineers actually fixed it by rerouting my youtube traffic. I wish they still did that lol

Or change ISP and if they try to charge you a break fee tell them to get stuffed. This has been ongoing for a long time with what appears to be zero action from them.

It also struck me that there may be other sites that are faulting in this manner that we are blissfully unaware of?
