Ok I don't know why you all suddenly decided to phyc at me about whinging about getting live on my Z800 since thats not what I said, I was talking about SEUS the Z800 which has obvouisuly been blocked by Vodafone, I haven't said s**t about wanting my z800 to go on VF Live so don't give me c**p about whinging

i-mate is not selling the new versions yet anywhere in the world. The ones Vodafone is currently selling here (PDA2k, PDA2, i-mate JAM, i-mate SP3, i-mate SP3i) are the latest current versions.

i-mate haven't announced any new devices yet - currently there is speculation about the HTC Universal, HTC Wizard and other models being available in the near future. Also the HTC Universal on Vodafone Germany, O2, T-Mobile and Orange are only "announced" but not available (wait until October).

Of course you can't flash a Z800 to V800.... -_- I don't think it has anything to do with vodafone.

I'm not an idoit I think you must be, I know that I was trying to update the Z800 firmware cause I have a early version.

oops sorry i misunderstood you, so which phone do you have (Z800 or SE V802se)? yea i want to do the same thing as well, I have a V802se.. anyway i will go back to my country for the holiday and it will cost me $50 to flash it to the latest version, and turn off the camera sound. but everything works fine for me so don't think there is any reasons for me to do so/

Thats a new version of sp3i and selling at cheaper price, not i-mate though :)

I got a V800 with Z800 firmware, which doesn't have camera sound when I turn it on silent which is good when I see hot chicks, lol j/k

SEUS works by SE allowing certain firmware versions of handsets to update if a newer firmware is available. This relates to the original source of the handset. If you go and buy a V800 its unlikely that SEUS will be available. If you were in Europe say and purchased an unbranded handset from SE then an update will be made available to you if one exists.

Vodafone customised firmware doesnt use SEUS so that is the only way Vodafone are preventing the update and if VF have a deal to sell a V800 with customised firmware then its likely customisation will be done in house seperate from SE who operate SEUS.

I think this has gone off topic, we all know that at this point in time only an authorised handset can access vodafone live which is the delivery method for 2 of the 4 3G services available on vodafone. This move shows nous by vodafone to reinforce use of authorised channels rather than parallel importers. This also means that users who save a buck may not get what they want.

I am all for lower mobile prices but that is life and the move by vodafone is clever and obiviously well implemented.
