I wonder how  come J'ville gets fibre now whereas Khandallah isn't until mid next year? Do you have contacts Mauricio :-) ?

We have a Vodafone cable connection and a Snap/2degrees DSL connection. Fibre is going to be the backup of the backup.

And no, Geekzone is not hosted from home.

3 way load balance? Would be able to get some pretty good speeds soon

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.

I am not complaining because I don't have plans to watch YouTube tonight. The only download that is suffering is my 5.8 GB Google Takeout download, but I don't care about the speed of that as long as it finishes by 6AM tomorrow (when I wake up). I'm just looking forward to the end of September, when speeds should increase! tongue-out

Edit: the reason my Google Takeout download is the only thing that is suffering from slow speed: it's the only thing I'm downloading.

The other reason I am not complaining: I understand that the upgrades are happening, and that not everything happens all at once.

And complaining gets me nowhere.

Oh hey I recognise where that is, I go by on my bus every day! Hi. Not for much longer though, soon I'll be off to the magical land of already-installed UFB. Bye cable!

Tonight seems really bad in Kapiti. Tried to watch Sky Go, no go... Lightbox, no go... TVNZ Ondemand, no go... And that's even with a reasonable speed considering i'm on the 50/2 plan...

Didn't help that I also went to watch a Bluray on my PC and the software didn't like playing it just to rub salt into the wounds :)
