hmmm, appears I cannot even traceroute their own website...

I did a speed test to CCH (speedtest.net) with a ping of "663" and DL speeds 200kbps and yet the auckland test is normal (2.5mbps).  I want my compensation back!!!

I get those speeds both from the christchurch server AND the Auckland one! Plus we've never received any compensation or extra credit or ANYTHING!

I'm beginning to hate telstra.

ADSL cannot be this bad...especially close to an exchange.

This latest issue has been several hours now and no sign of a fix.

Shame on you telstra..yet again

How's it looking tonight folks?

Last night's latency problem should have been mitigated earlier today.

Ropata - what would you normally expect to get to Youtube?

I'm seeing 180ms from here at home, 40 of which is my DSL connection, 125 more to the US, then 15 from there to Youtube. Looks about what I'd expect (pesky speed of light, haven't gotten around that one yet)

Why do you need under 150msec RTT to Youtube?  The RTT difference between 150ms and 180ms won't affect your throughput that much (assuming decent window sizing).

Expecting under 150msec to the US on a DSL service is a little.... optimistic.  Particularly if you're being served from an East Coast content server.

Well its 10meg/2meg cable and videos never used to have to buffer. The price just went up $10 too.
