Well I have had this problem for a few weeks myself, and almost daily i attempt to text -
F to 3223 fb to 3223 and on to 3223
I have never had a reply. On all the forums i have read, it always comes back to someone saying "its something at facebooks end"
Vodafone is cleary USELESS when it comes to this problem, has anyone considered how useless they really are?
Telecom has clearly made efforts to provide this service and others, even working with facebook with the "free facebook services" that they provide, they also have ads on facebook telling us how many of our friends are using their " 0.facebook.com "and pointing out that it is only available for Telecom customers.
has anyone tried to activate a Telecom mobile for facebook notifications/messages lately? Im gunna take a guess and say that you would recieve you confirmation code within 1 min, unlike useless vodafone.
If telecom can contact and work with facebook to have their services up and running then why cant vodafone? all Vodafone does is try and put it onto the customer to sort it out with facebook themselves.
Are they kidding????
This is clearly a problem with many if not ALL vodafone customers at the moment.
VODAFONE need to contact facebook and fix this problem.
If telecom was having this same problem, do you guys really think it would have dragged on for so long? No, they would make it a priority to sort out this service for their customers, unlike Vodapoop.
Im a long time vodafone customer, have always liked Vodafone, have had minimal problems with them,
But this issue is ticking me off and i believe that Vodafone should handle and fix the situation asap but i dont think they realllly care about their customers as much as other companys.
Please share your thoughts people!
(sort out some better texting deals while your at it Vodafone, your the only major company limiting the text packages/bundles " to any Vodafone mobile", most other companys allow you to text any mobile in NZ) get with the program, that is an outdated bundle scheme, keep your customers happy or your gunna start to lose them!!
Yes John, i have read this thread and many others regarding this issue -
why did i have a feeling that you would be first to respond to my post, its seems that you respond to many forums and posts regarding this issue by putting all the blame onto facebook.
I am not saying it is all Vodafones fault, im just saying that Vodafone has many customers that are having trouble with this service, yet Vodafone has not made a concerted effort to resolve the issue either by figuring out the cause of the problem or by working with facebook to fix it.
John, you clearly work for Vodafone in some capacity, I have no idea what your job entitles but i assume you are not a Technician at Vodafone, so how can you know for certain that the problem is solely with facebook?
You do not even know why the service is not working, all you ever say is "its facebooks fault" but i feel most are giving you too much credibility simply because you work for vodafone.
As far as my job goes and who I am, (im not sure why that is even relevant) I am merely a Student of Otago University, and a loyal Vodafone customer. I have been with Vodafone for at least 8-9 years.
I am simply unsatisfied with Vodafone dealings and lack of resolution in this particular issue.
I am a CUSTOMER with the company that YOU work for. Try being less defensive and more understanding of a customers complaints....
I pay vodafone good money to use their Mobiles and services.
Facebook is Free.
Do i expect facebook to handle this situation case by case for Free? absolutley not.
I expect the Vodafone, who many people and myself PAY good money to use their services, to resolve the issue.
Even if it is a problem with Facebook - 2 companys are having a conflict with a service that is provided, i expect the company that i pay, to investigate the source of the problem that is only affecting Vodafone customers, and to resolve the issue.
ok mr Technician, Can you give us a timeframe on when this issue should be resolved? Any clue at all as to what the problem actually is? How come Telecom customers are not experiencing this Issue? Can you not sort out a service when we text "3223" that we at least get a reply saying that there are technical issues that are being resolved?
Give us some answers instead of just shifting the blame......
Like i said before I am a loyal Vodafone customer and have infact always loved being with vodafone I am just unenthusiastic with the lack of Explanation or Resolution from vodafones end.
John, if you could tell me that it is an issue that should be resolved within "a month" and that you guys are working on it. I would not be complaining, i just want some idea of when this service will be available again for your customers and feel that as a paying customer there is a certain level of obligation at your end to either give some answers or work harder to resolve the issue.
(edit: perhaps Vodafone just needs to contact Facebook and get them to remove Vodafone as a service provider on their mobile networks??? its very misleading and frustrating)
First if Vodafone has a deal of this size with Facebook - and we are talking about the fourth largest website in the world and the largest mobile operator in the world, obviously somewhere they should have project managers, contact points or at least a protocol to be actioned if something goes wrong. So yes, Vodafone should move and get this fixed.
But...
Facebook is well known for being a dysfunctional entity with a really bad customer service and poor relationship management (incredible, for a company in the "social" space). Vodafone might as well be trying all they can to get this fixed, and getting nowhere with them - and that's what I think it's happening.
perhaps Vodafone just needs to contact Facebook and get them to remove Vodafone as a service provider on their mobile networks??? its very misleading and frustrating
untill that is done i feel i have a right to complain and seek answers from vodafone.
If you guys at Vodafone are fed up with your customers complaining about it, sort out the removal of your companys name being offered as being able to provide a service that Vodafone cannot infact provide reliably.
